National Infrastructure Commission
The UK’s National Infrastructure Commission (NIC) is developing future strategies of infrastructure development, to inform it’s forthcoming National Infrastructure Assessment, due in 2018.
Our infrastructure system-of-systems model, NISMOD, is helping to develop the strategies being created by the NIC. These strategies will provide evidence on the likely range of infrastructure requirements that there will be in the UK, taking account of changes in e.g., the economy, climate, population and technology.
Using these strategies, policymakers can develop and test recommendations, to identify those that will work under a range of possible futures and to help make our infrastructure robust to change.
