Modassar presented the energy model which interacts with all the other ITRC sector models. It models energy demand and energy supply and looks at how energy demand might be met in the Arc for three scenarios: an electric future, heat networks, and green gas. The team looked at the impacts of the scenarios on energy demand and emissions, what the supply mix looks like, the costs involved, whether demand management would be required and proposed different ways to reach net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.
